  • added mobile support.  when on a touch device, additional icons will appear during gameplay for space, backspace.  touch a letter to select it.  in menu screens, touch the bold letter to choose that option.

  • added color cycle feature - press TAB to change the color of the (most recently entered tile) and if an alternate color choice is still available, it cycles them.  this feature still needs additional work to support the free cursor system (expect it to eventually cycle the exact character you've highlighted)
  • adjusted loading messages to properly wait for dictionary data, to avoid beginning game before dependencies are loaded

  • minor bugfixes relating to spaces, backspaces, etc.
  • added red and orange letters to "easy" levels for testing
  • added scoring summary after each level.  various bonuses, e.g. longer words get a better multiplier
  • game attempts to make "smart" decision of which color of letter to pick from when multiples exist, e.g. game will not select a red letter if one already exists in your current word
  • each letter you take is crossed out in the "use these letters" display, makes it easier to tell how many letters you have left to use
  • new keyboard shortcut:  ctrl+c to clear current input

project summary

This is an early version of the game with limited content.  I am also learning what works best when uploading to itch.io.

The medium and hard level options do not respond yet - you receive a "bad command" warning.  I also have not done any work to implement the colored letters or their behaviors.
